Using a taxi to link with Bargain Bus

Simply call Phoenix Taxis, our partners in Taxi Plus, on 01670 540 222 or 0500 504506 to order your taxi, letting them know that you wish to connect with a Bargain Bus. (Taxi cabs operated by other companies could be used as well as Phoenix cabs.)

Buying your ticket
When the taxi arrives, simply pay the driver your fare to your Bargain Bus destination together with your £3 Taxi Plus connection. If you don't know your fare, your taxi driver will be able to tell you. Your taxi driver will give you a ticket which will show your final bus destination. You should hand this to your bus driver who will issue you with the appropriate bus ticket.

Using Bargain Bus to link with a taxi
When you get on Bargain Bus, tell your driver you want to buy a Taxi Plus ticket and let them know your destination. Your Bargain Bus driver will book a taxi to meet you at one of the designated stops above.

Buying your ticket
Your ticket will cost the price of your standard Bargain Bus fare plus the additional £3 Taxi Plus price. You will be given two tickets from the driver's ticket machine – one which will show the price of your standard Bargain Bus journey and one marked 'Taxi Plus'. You should hand the 'Taxi Plus' ticket only to your taxi driver.

Some questions answered

Q. If the maximum taxi journey allowed with Taxi Plus is 2 miles, what do I do if I want to make a longer journey by taxi?
A. You will need to pay the taxi driver the full amount for any additional journey costs including dropping off passengers at destinations other than the one booked with Taxi Plus

Q. How many Taxi Plus tickets will be needed if I share the taxi with others?
A. Other passengers joining you in the taxi will not have to pay an additional taxi fare, but only one Taxi Plus ticket incorporating a Bargain Bus fare will be issued. Other passengers wishing to connect with Bargain Bus will each have to pay the standard fare on the bus.

Q. What if I have a day ticket, weekly ticket or return ticket?
A. If you have bought any of these tickets or any other pre-paid bus ticket you will only have to pay the £3 taxi add-on. You will show your pass or ticket as normal when you get on the bus.
