Cheaper single fares for everyone under 18
If you're under 18 you can travel around for as little as 90p per single journey with a Get Around key. At times you will pay just one of four simple fares or save money with a day, week or term ticket.

Under 18 single fares are available to everyone under 18 with the key smartcard which should be placed on the smartcard reader to activate the discounted fare. Those under 11 can travel at child fare without the key smartcard.
Peak times are before 0930 or between 1430 and 1700 on school days. Off peak times are Monday to Friday 0930 to 1430, then 1700 onwards; and all day at weekends, bank holidays and main school and half term holidays.
In Tyne & Wear holders of the Pop Under 16 card can travel at the Nexus 50p single and Nexus CAT £1 day ticket prices.
Children under 5 years travel free on our services when travelling with a fare paying passenger (to a maximum of 3 children per passenger).
