Security
You'll be working for a large and successful local employer, and as part of Go North East will be part of the largest bus company in the area. In turn, Go North East is part of the Go-Ahead Group (one of the largest transport groups in the UK), who operate bus, rail and airport services throughout the country.
Reward
Our pay and conditions packages are among the best in our field. As a trainee you will receive a training rate, with full pay rates paid from the day following their PCV test pass. If you come to us with a PCV licence, all training is paid at your full depot rate. State of the art buses, free travel concessions, quality uniforms and an excellent contributory pension scheme add up to a package that's hard to beat.
Development
As a trainee, from the day you start you'll be given quality training towards your theory and practical tests, then you will undertake training on customer care, assisting our disabled customers and ticket issue, as well as local route training with an assigned 'mentor'. You are automatically entered for an NVQ qualification, which provides a nationally-recognised award based on how well you do your job. Your career progression is discussed at annual appraisals, and opportunities for promotion are often available.
Investment
Our profits have been substantially re-invested in the service, and over £7 million has been spent on new vehicles and vehicle refurbishments in the last year alone. 95% of our local bus service network is provided using Easy Access buses, improving social inclusion by bringing better buses close to more families, elderly and people with disabilities. As an Investor in People, we develop our staff to add further value both to our services and their careers.
