Details of Quaylink & Centrelink diversions during period 14th & 19th September:

From 12:00 on Tuesday 14th September until midnight on Friday 17th September:  

Q1 will be unable to operate via South Shore Road between Mill Lane and Hillgate during these times and will operate from Gateshead Interchange via Jackson Street, Gateshead High Street, Oakwellgate roundabout, Quaysgate, (omit The Sage), Hawkes Road, Mill Road (for Baltic), then clockwise loop around South Shore Road towards Cement Works, Deptford Road, Hawkes Road, Oakwellgate, The Sage, Cannon Street, Bridge Street, Swing Bridge, then normal route to Central Station.

From Central Station, Q1 will operate normal route to Swing Bridge, then Bridge Street, The Sage, Oakwellgate, Hawks Road, Mill Road (for Baltic), then clockwise loop around South Shore Road towards Cement Works, Deptford Road, Hawkes Road, Eastgate (omit The Sage), Oakwellgate, Gateshead High Street, Jackson Street and Gateshead Interchange.

Q2 unaffected at this time.

Saturday 18th September (Junior Great North Run Day):

Q1 will be unable to serve South Shore Road, Hillgate, Bridge Street, Swing Bridge, Sandhill, The Side, Dean Street or Grey Street and will operate from Gateshead Interchange via Jackson Street, Gateshead High Street, Oakwellgate roundabout, Quaysgate, Oakwellgate, The Sage, Oakwellgate, Eastgate, Hawkes Road, Mill Road (for Baltic), then clockwise loop around South Shore Road towards Cement Works, Deptford Road, Hawkes Road, Eastgate, Oakwellgate roundabout, Tyne Bridge, Tyne Bridge north slip-road, Swan House roundabout, Mosley Street, St. Nicholas Street, Westgate Road, Neville Street (Central Station).

From Central Station, Q1 will operate via Clayton Street West, Westgate Road, Collingwood Street, St. Nicholas Street, High Level Bridge, Wellington Street, West Street, Prince Consort Road to Gateshead Interchange, then as above.

Q2 will be unable to serve Newcastle Quayside, Guildhall, The Side, Dean Street or Grey Street and will operate from Percy Street (outside Eldon Square), normal route to Grainger Street, then Market Street West, Pilgrim Street, Swan House roundabout, City Road, Melbourne Street, Pandon bank, City Road, Sandgate, St Annes’ Street, City Road, then normal route to St. Peter’s Basin, returning via normal route to Spillers Mill, then St. Lawrence Road, Walker Road, Glasshouse Bridge, City Road, St. Anne’s Street, Sandgate, City Road, Swan House roundabout, Pilgrim Street, Market Street East, John Dobson Street, St Mary’s Place to Percy Street (outside of Eldon Square).

Sunday 19th September (Great North Run Day):

Q1 will be unable to serve Gateshead Interchange, Jackson Street, Gateshead High Street, Oakwellgate or South Shore Road and will operate from Mill Road (for Baltic), then clockwise loop around South Shore Road towards Cement Works, Deptford Road, Hawkes Road, Oakwellgate, The Sage, Cannon Street, Bridge Street, Swing Bridge, then normal route to Central Station.

From Central Station, Q1 will operate normal route to Swing Bridge, then Bridge Street, Cannon Street, The Sage, Oakwellgate and Hawks Road to Mill Road (for Baltic).

Q2 will be unaffected and will operate normal Sunday route avoiding Quayside.
