Service 71
From Sunday 4th May there will be a change to the service 71 route heading into Sunderland in the Fence Houses area.
On journeys towards Sunderland services will no longer serve Rose Avenue and will operate along Station Avenue, turn left into Sedgeletch Road, left into Murray Avenue, right into Grange Avenue, right into Avenue Vivian then rejoins its normal route.
This section of route will no longer be hail & ride and the bus will only stop at recognised bus stops shown below.
Customers from Rose Avenue, when travelling towards Sunderland, should use either the bus stop on Station Avenue near the level crossing or the temporary stop in Avenue Vivian near to Grange Avenue.
Journeys coming from Sunderland will not be changed.
From the same date we will be allocating bigger buses to this service to increase the number of seats available.
