A local travel company which launched a campaign aimed at raising the profile of an endangered species of bird has had its efforts rewarded with a major conservation accolade.
Go North East has scooped the first prize in the Business category of Northumberland Wildlife Trust’s 2008 Conservation Awards which were sponsored by npower.
The campaign, in conjunction with the Northern Kites project, started with Go North East’s branding of the ‘Red Kite’ bus service which runs from Eldon Square Interchange to Consett via Metro Centre and past many of the best places to observe red kites nesting.
