MetroCentre to Newcastle City Centre

The Park and Ride site is situated just off the A1 on the MetroCentre Coach Park approximately 3 miles west of Newcastle and Gateshead. The MetroCentre Coach Park is well signposted from the A1. Secure parking monitored by MetroCentre staff.

Where will service X67 take me ?
Service X67 will take you non-stop into Newcastle City Centre in under 10 minutes using the CentreLink bus priority road. It will stop on Dean Street, Market Street, Grainger Street and at Central Station for easy access to most parts of the City Centre. Buses will depart every 15 minutes at peak times on Mondays to Fridays.

Where will service X66 take me ?
Service X66 will take you non-stop into Gateshead in approximately 10 minutes using the the CentreLink bus priority road. It will stop in Gateshead Interchange for easy access to the town centre and the Metro. Buses will depart at least every 15 minutes at peak times on Mondays to Fridays.

To use Park and Ride you'll need to register with us in advance as the Park and Ride facility is only available to registered users. You can do this by phone on 0845 60 60 2 60 or HERE

Park and Ride parking bays are available in blocks of one week and can be booked for any number of weeks. Bays must be booked in advance, by phone on 0845 60 60 260 or via our website, as the Park and Ride site will not be available to people who turn up on the day without having pre-purchased their ticket and who do not have a valid parking permit.

Once you have purchased your Park and Ride permit, you will be allocated a numbered parking bay which is for your sole use. We will send you your parking permit along with your bus ticket and a MetroCentre discount card.

Your bus ticket gives you unlimited travel on services X66 and X67 and is also valid on Go North East services, Diamond 43, 44, Red Kite 45, 46, 46A and service 47 between Newcastle and MetroCentre to allow you to return from Newcastle when service X67 is not operating at off peak times.

How much will Park and Ride cost ?
Park and Ride parking bays are available in blocks of one week and can be booked for any number of weeks between 1 and 30.

Discounts are given to people who car share although only one parking permit will be issued. However, parking permits are not tied to any one vehicle so a different car can be used providing it displays a valid parking permit.

Services X66 and X67 are registered local bus services and are available to everybody at local fares of £1.50 single or £2.50 return. BuzzFares are also valid. However, customers using the MetroCentre Park and Ride site on the Coach Park must be in possession of a valid parking permit or a penalty notice may be issued.
