Laser 35 buses run every 10 minutes between South Shields, Sunderland, Sunderland Royal Hospital and Houghton-le-Spring on Monday to Saturday daytimes. Buses will then run to Rainton Bridge, offering a more frequent ten-minute all-day service to the business park and a new direct link with Sunderland City Centre.

Our Tickets & Fares

We’ve a range of great value fares and tickets for travel on the Laser with Cheap Day return tickets from £2.50.

For those making shorter journeys, there’s some great value local fares offering simplicity and value for money in many of the towns along the route. For a day of unlimited travel you can buy a Sunderland Day ticket for £3 or our Buzzfare day tickets start at £4.

For £7 our Silksworth saver ticket gives you unlimited travel on service 42 and our Laser 35 between Silksworth and the city centre. For £10 our Sunderland weekly ticket gives you unlimited travel throughout the city of Sunderland.

If you travel on Go North East services outside of Sunderland then a Buzzfare ticket is the one for you. Tickets start at £16.30 for a week. There’s also 28 day and annual Buzzfare tickets available too! Tickets are available from the driver and travel shops or save 10% by purchasing your tickets online .

Plus, you could save another 25%, compared to the price of individual 28 day tickets, if your employer buys an annual ticket for you under our corporate discount scheme - contact us for full information.

You can use all of our weekly or monthly tickets as much as you like including evenings & weekends!

For 19-22 year olds our range of Get Around tickets give massive discounts with tickets offering unlimited travel starting at £3.20 a day!

Sunderland City Centre

The retail heart of the city is centred around The Bridges Shopping Centre, where there are over 100 top name high street stores.

Close by The Bridges are Waterloo Place, Fawcett Street and John Street with numerous shops offering everything from designer labels to trendy interiors.

Just a short walk away is the Winter Gardens, Museum, Art Gallery and Mowbray Park, while Sunderland Interchange offers frequent connections with Fab56 buses to the Stadium of Light and the Sunderland Aquatic Centre.
