From 30 October, services 69 and 69A will have a fresh new look and will be called Pulse, and will be run with bigger buses. Buses will no longer serve Pelaw Metro to speed up journeys.
Our customer consultation showed overwhelming support to merge the current 69/69A and 187 to create new hourly services 69 and 69A. The new 69 and 69A will offer a combined half-hourly service between Wardley and QE Hospital via Leam Lane Estate and Felling Square.
The 69 will continue from QE Hospital to Winlaton via Low Fell, Saltwell Road, Team Valley Maingate, Lobley Hill, Whickham, Swalwell and Blaydon, providing an hourly service via this route.
The 69A will continue from QE Hospital to Blackhall Mill via Deckham, Gateshead Central Library & Leisure Centre, Whitehall Road, Bensham, Dunston, Metrocentre, Swalwell, Blaydon, Crawcrook, Folly, Greenside, High Spen and Chopwell, also providing an hourly service via this route.

Cleaner buses - Our Kite Mark explained
Go North East has one of the cleanest bus fleets of its size in the country and to make it even easier for you to see how well your bus is doing to help look after the environment, we have introduced a new ‘kite mark’ on our buses.
Using simple illustrations based on a red kite bird taking flight, each symbol lets you see at-a-glance how each of our buses meet European standards on emissions. Find out more about cleaner engines.
