Red Arrows X1 is the fast and frequent link between Newcastle, Gateshead, QE Hospital, Wrekenton, Washington, Houghton-le-Spring, Hetton-le-Hole and Easington Lane. Buses run every 10 minutes on Monday to Saturday daytimes, then every 30 minutes in the evening and on Sundays. Connections can be made at Washington Galleries with the frequent M1 to Concord, Heworth and Fence Houses.
Red Arrows X3 links Newcastle, Gateshead, Heworth, Boldon Business Park, Boldon Asda, East Boldon and Sunderland. Buses run every 30 minutes on Monday to Saturday daytimes.
As well as the X1 and X3, we run the 921, which is a direct service between Newcastle, Gateshead and Rainton Bridge – perfect if you live in Newcastle or Gateshead and work at Rainton Bridge.
Our double-deck buses are fitted with wi-fi systems, so you can catch up with the latest news or check your e-mails as you travel.

Washington Galleries
With over 80 top name high street stores and specialist retailers, the Washington Galleries Shopping Centre has something for everyone. There’s also a retail park that’s a short walk away from the Galleries that includes Next, Home Bargans and Brantano Footwear.
red arrows buses give frequent links and the Bus Interchange is the perfect gateway to the Galleries Shopping Centre. Our staff will be on hand to help you with travel queries from 0700 to 1900 Monday to Friday and from 1000 to 1800 on Saturday.
Sunderland City Centre
The retail heart of the city is centred around The Bridges Shopping Centre, where there are over 100 top name high street stores. Close by The Bridges are Waterloo Place, Fawcett Street and John Street with numerous shops offering everything from designer labels to trendy interiors.
Just a short walk away is the Winter Gardens, Museum, Art Gallery and Mowbray Park, while Sunderland Interchange offers frequent connections with Fab56 buses to the Stadium of Light and the Sunderland Aquatic Centre.
Newcastle City Centre
Eldon Square, Northumberland Street, Monument Mall, Central Arcade, Grainger Market and Eldon Gardens are a shoppers' paradise, with a vast array of high stores and smaller specialist retailers.
