the ORBIT 51 and 52 buses give regular and reliable links to many places in around Gateshead, including Deckham, Carr Hill, Windy Nook, Felling Square, Heworth, Leam Lane Estate, Springwell Estate, Wrekenton, Easedale Gardens, Kell's Lane, Dryden Road and Gateshead Library.
Monday to Saturday daytime buses run up to every 15 minutes for most of the day on each circular route, with evening buses running every 30 minutes and Sunday daytime buses running every 20 minutes.

Our Tickets & Fares
With a flat single fare of just £1.30 our using our Orbit service is quick and easy.
If you're travelling to Newcastle you'll need our Orbit Switcha ticket which, for just £1.80, lets you hop on any Go North East service between Gateshead and Newcastle. You can choose your connecting service and take your pick of stops in Newcastle city centre, including Eldon Square, Central Station, Pilgrim Street and John Dobson Street. Coming back just buy your Orbit Switcha ticket from any Go North East bus in Newcastle and change onto the Orbit back in Gateshead.
From 8 February single fares will be £1.40 and Orbit Switcha will be £1.90.
If you travel on our services a few times a week then you will save money with our range of weekly, monthly or annual Buzzfare tickets. What’s more, once you get your ticket, you can use it as much as you want including evenings & weekends!
Our Orbit service runs within our Purple Buzzfare zone giving you a week of unlimited travel for £16.30. Tickets are available from the driver and travel shops or save 10% by purchasing your ticket online.
Plus, you could save another 25%, compared to the price of individual 28 day tickets, if your employer buys an annual ticket for you under our corporate discount scheme - contcat us for full information.
For 19-22 year olds our range of Get Around tickets give massive discounts with tickets offering unlimited travel starting at £3.20 a day!

On the route
Newcastle City Centre
Eldon Square, Northumberland Street, Monument Mall, Central Arcade, Grainger Market and Eldon Gardens are a shoppers' paradise, with a vast array of high stores and smaller specialist retailers.
For a totally thrilling experience, make a visit to the International Centre for Life, or for top class entertainment there's the Theatre Royal, while St James' Park is home to Newcastle United Football Club.
Metrocentre
Easy connections can be made at Gateshead Interchange and Eldon Square Bus Station with frequent buses to and from MetroCentre.
With more than 300 shops all under one roof, MetroCentre has something for everyone, including major names like Debenhams, House of Fraser and Marks & Spencer.
There are many smaller independent shops in themed areas such as The Forum, The Studio and Garden Court.
