If you live in County Durham and go to sixth form or college a travel assistance award is available from Durham County Council which can be used towards a 16 week Get Around ticket taking care of your travel costs for a full term. Some colleges will pay to top this up giving you a full term of unlimited bus travel for free!

Going to New College Durham or Derwentside College?
These colleges will pay your student top-up which, when combined with the Travel Assistance Award from Durham County Council, will give you a term of free travel with Go North East.
How it Works...
- Each term, you will receive £80, £115 or £135 from Durham County Council. The amount you receive will depend on how far you live from the place you are studying. You can then use this towards the cost of a 16 week Get Around ticket to get unlimited travel, including evenings and weekends, from Go North East.
